WHO WE ARE

EKAJ Educational Fund was birthed in December 2022 and was inaugurated in May 2023 to address the challenges facing most indigenes in the area of education. Our establishment serves as a means of contributing to development and meeting a major community need which has been the driving force and motivation.

VISION

To promote education and youth development through interventions such as providing financial support, building capacities and fostering social cohesion.

MISSION

To provide support to worthy needy but brilliant students, unemployed graduates and artisans to acquire relevant skills for personal and community development.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  1. To help reduce barriers of education among vulnerable students.
  2. To help improve basic and vocational education training for disadvantaged and people with disability within Asante Akyem Area.
  3. To help improve learning environment for students in targeted deprived Communities in Ghana
  4. To collaborate with other individuals, organisations and institutions to advance EKAJ’s vision for quality education in targeted communities in Ghana

Education is the bedrock upon which every nation’s growth and development is anchored, particularly in our fast-evolving global society that requires a multiplicity of skill sets. The Eric Kofi Amofa Jnr (EKAJ) Foundation believes education is the catalyst for social
and economic change.

EKAJ Educational Fund is meant to provide inclusive, equitable, and sustainable access to education and skills development for individuals within the Asante Akyem South Municipality, especially brilliant but needy students and other young people facing financial, social, or physical barriers – empowering them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to community and national development.

It is also meant to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion by investing in the Education, Skills and Empowerment of our target beneficiaries in Asante Akyem South – regardless of religious, tribal or political background.

EKAJ is also established to ensure learners with disabilities, girls and extremely deprived children are not left behind in educational opportunities.

At, EKAJ, we believe that investing in people is an investment in the future of our communities. Our Financial Support includes, but not limited to, tuition fees, accommodation and other scholastic materials.

OUR TARGETS

  • Brilliant but needy students in the Asante Akyem South Municipality
  • Unemployed Young People in the Asante Akyem South Municipality (Capacity Building, Mentorship and Skill Training Programs)
  • Out of School Youth and dropouts (Second Chance Programs and Vocational Training)
  • Girls and Young women (Mentorship, Safe School Environment and Financial Support)

SCOPE OF SUPPORT

  • Provide Financial Assistance to Brilliant but Needy Students. This is to ensure access to quality education for academically gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Provide Scholastic Materials to Brilliant but Needy Students. This is to support learning and academic performance by supplying essential educational resources.
  • Offer Vocational and Skills Training for School Dropouts, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This it to promote self-reliance and employability among marginalized groups through targeted skills development.
  • Organize Capacity-Building Workshops for Local Artisans. This is to enhance technical knowledge, business skills, and improve the livelihoods of local artisans.

THE AWARD PROCESS

  • The Fund is governed by Five (5) Trustee Board Members and Three Patrons who ensure a fair, transparent but rigorous process in awarding support to qualified and deserving students.
  • Applicant are to submit application letters with relevant documents to the EKAJ office at Juaso for review and consideration by the Board.
  • Shortlisted Applicants are contacted for further engagement.
  • Award Letters are issued to Applicants

  • The Founder’s Personal Contribution to the Fund.
  • Corporate, Public Institutional and Individual Support.
  • Annual Fundraising Events to Solicit Funding Support
  • Partnerships with Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations
  • Local and International Donor Agencies
